CHEERING OJS TO VICTORY As soon as school was out last spring, the girls began four and sometimes five hours each day working on competition cheers, mini-cheers, jumps, and voice projection all in preparation for the cheerleading camps. The hard work paid off as the squad received The Most Spirited Award at the Spirit Night competition held at Richland Mall. Being a cheerleader means being at pep rallies, basketball games, football games, and cheer- ing the student body to show their spirit. rM«i»- ■ Yeah! RUNNING AWAY WITH IT! Everyone dreaded coming back to school this fall, but the football season seemed to make it all worthwhile. This year ' s football season was especially exciting. The Raiders dominated almost every team they played. They stomped on arch rival C.A. Johnson and walked all over Strom Thurmond. Although they suffered many injuries this season Keenan still prevailed. The Raiders proved that it doesn ' t take just a few awesome players to win a game, but it takes many good players who play well together. Getting to be as good as they are didn ' t come easy. It took a lot of time, hard work, and dedication on the players ' part which included summer practices, after school functions, and exclusion from Homecoming activities such as the parade and half-time ceremonies. Setting up at the line, the Raiders get ready to gain more yardage against their opponents. Handing off the ball, demands speed and accura- cy. 102
