Their air intelligence department selects targets for TF 77 planes. AID also assesses the damage made by the strike anzl esti- mates the time repairs will be completed in order to hit them again as soon as they are repaired. The operations department plots the course for all ships en- tering and leaving TF 77 area, as well as course to and from port. They also have their own weather crew, as weather is an important factor in the operation of aircraft.
