The rumbling of empty stomachs echoes loudly off the walls and all eyes are fixed on the clock as it ticks slowly away. It’s 12:03. The students take their marks — BRRRING!!! The classroom is left souless as everyone rushes for the greatest social hour of the day. As books are thrown haphazardly into lock- ers, quick decisions are made as to where to head to replenish their energy supplies. Cars dart out of the parking lot, destined for McDonalds and Taco Bell, while narrow- ly missing those scrambling across the street to establish their place in line at Carmen’s, Square Pan, Rose’s Donuts, and The Yogurt Cup. They ravenously stuff their faces as though there is no tomorrow and, at this point, there never is.
