Winds Blow Kearny a Crystal Queen Homecoming 1978 activities began with the coronation football game on October 20 with Kearny against Crawford. The festivities took place during the halftime break. There were two elec- tions, the first to narrow the number of people down, and the final election held one week before the game. With such a long wait, the finalists were un- der pressure. tEspecially the seniors be- cause they had an extra week of ag- ony.l The tension built as the girls were escorted onto the field while Teri McEfee, last year's queen, greeted them. Black clouds, strong winds, and threatening skies were present as Mr. Stoffer opened the envelope and whis- pered the new queen's name to Teri. Finally the waiting came to an end as the 1978 homecoming queen was crowned. The tears begin to flow as Crystal Flake realizes that Teri McEfee tlast year's queenj has just crowned her the 1978 Homecoming queen. The 1978 Homecoming Court: Queen-Crystal Flake, Senior Attendants-Tracy Alexander and Lori Huber, junior Attendants-Carol Clabby and Theresa Hedgecothg Sophomore Attendants-Lisa Alexander and Sheryl Hosang. After the crowning, Tracy Alexander takes advan- tage of a few moments to relax and enjoy the game.
