Although the J .V. basketball games sometimes don't seem as important as those of Varsity, they are! Many of this years players on J .V. will make up next years Varsity team. Playing on J.V. is good experience for the players. The games these guys play are important to them because no one likes to lose. The J .V. team proved this by winning their first Eastern League game against their rivals at Madison. The score in that game was 68-61. Their second game against Patrick Henry was close, but the patriots came out ahead by one point. It was a hard game to lose, but the J.V. cagers bounced back and really beat San Diego, 96-53. They continued with this kind of determination for the rest of the season. Coach Mottershaw put in a lot of time and effort with these boys and it really shows when they go on the court. J .V.
