widd - . glxclzange After having the experience of an Exchange student from America stay at her home for a year, Christine is having the thrill of visiting America herself. Arriving in San Diego on August 26, and meeting her new family on the same day, she started her year in the United States with a great deal of anticipation. Having two younger sisters and a nine year old brother in the Billmire home, Christine has learned many things about American family life. Christine has become a gen- uine Komet by participating in many activities such as: Treas- urer of Pep Club, Vice-President of A.F.S. for the second semes- ter, honorary member of Girls' League, and was chosen from eight candidates to reign as Queen of the Girls' League Ball. Kearny has benefited in many ways by her visit here in the U.S. Christine's home in Solothurn, Switzerland ltop leftl is a typical example of family life in the Swiss Alps. The Billmire home ltop rightl, Christine's U.S. home, could be called a typical American dwelling. The aerial shots of both the high schools Christine has attended show the similarity of secondary schools in Switzerland and the United States. The Swiss costume shown at the bottom of the page is very gay, and is worn during festive occasions in Western Switzerland. Christine has been quite busy this year at Kearny taking part in . . .

This is an out- standing honor since all ofthe high schools of both the city and county of San Diego entered teams of their five best mathematics students.
