meerrng spirit was displayed by Kearny's tirst students and teachers. During the early years of Kearny, Linda Vista was still being c-onstructed and the living rooms ot many private homes served as classrooms. ln I943, the Kearny Student Body, with its principal, Mr. Taylor, was transferred to the site we now know as Montgomery Junior High. Ten years later, a beautiful new high schoolwas completed and our second principal, Mr. Carr, along with the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade students moved to our present and perma- nent location on Kearny Mesa. Many fine additions have come with the past six years, including our fine principal, Mr. Davies, and a large new auditorium and gym. Last tall Kearny played host to tive hundred Clairemont Sopho- mores, making the tenth grade class the largest in the city, and increasing the campus population to approximately l400. Just before Thanksgiving, the Clairemont students lett. As always, the year has passed quickly and now Kearny will graduate the 'Fine class of I959.
