Principal I wish that I could thanlc all of you individually Mr. Cleon Davies Mr. Davies, the principal of Kearny High School is a very go-od-humored man. Although he is seldom seen without a smile, Mr. Davies is not as care- free as his appearance suggests. His position, as executive on campus, is one of responsibility which demands competence and patience. For this reason, we, the Komets of Kearny, are proud of our principal and the splendid way in which he has fulfilled this job. for the many ways in which you have helped to make Kearny a better school. We chose space for the theme at the beginning -of the school year because we thought that it tied in nicely with the name ot the book, Komet. As the months passed, our theme became more and more timely: New satellites took their place in space, and several mo-onshots missed their mark. The scientists respon- sible for these wonders have a strong adventurous type-the spirit of the students of Kearny High type-the spirit of the students of Kearny High School. 5

Mrs. Karen Wiseman Known and respected by all students abid- ing on the Kearny campus, is the girls' Vice-Principal, Mrs. Karen Wiseman. Not only does she sponsor Dianas, set up the school calendar, and lceep actions running smoothly, but also spends many hours solv- ing personal problems for the girls. ln fulfilling these demands with competence and quality, Mrs. Wiseman has not only won the friendship and admiration of all who lcnow her, but also, the sincere thanks and gratitude for three successful years at Kearny from the l959 graduating class. Mr. John Brose Mr. John Grose, our boys' Vice-Principal, must set an example for all male Komets. Aside from seeing that school regulations arc obeyed, and handling, difficult situa- tions which arise during the year, he is the manager and organizer of all sports and affiliated activities. A most competent man, Mr. Brose was able to fulfill his job while at the same time, gain respect and friendship of Kearny students. 7
