Through his sincere efforts, co- operation, and ability, Kearny's growth since the school opened four years ago has never ceased. Strides in every field of school en- deavor have been furthered by Mr. Taylor's continued understanding of student needs and his willing co- operation in student activities. IDIEI ll 'CAUFII IDN l Ay The formal dedication ceremonies of Kearny Jr. Sr. High School were held on the school campus on April 26, l945, at l 230 P.M. The ceremony was held during California Public Schools week. Speakers for the day were Rev. Otto H. Reese, pastor of the Baptist Church of Linda Vista, Virginia Brock, Student Speaker, Mr. Walter Alley of the Housing Project Area, Dr. Will C. Crawford, Superintendent of San Diego City Schools, Mr, Fred E. Lindley, President of the Board of Education, Mr. Edward C. Taylor, Principal of Kearny Jr. Sr. High School, and Luetta Stolte, student body president, who led the student body in formal dedication re- sponses. Mr. Lewis vias master of ceremonies for the day. With the help of Mr. Ortiz and his band, and Mrs. Schneider and the drill team, the day was a splendid success. Tea was served by the Parent-Teacher's Association following open house given by the school. -5..
