No, just a couple of the most valuable courses available at K. H . S . The program is designed to give the work-oriented students the opportunity to work in areas of interest under qualified supervision. It may seem like a luxury to other students to see the D.E. or C.I.E. students leaving school early. But remember, when they leave here it's to go to work. The students in these programs not only have the opportunity to earn money and gain practical job experienceg they also learn about practical day-to-day realities of real life in the adult world .

Color Guards BOTTOM: Titan Color Guard leads off the Memorial Day Parade. TOP: FIRST ROW: D. Ruhman, D. Boyce. SECOND ROW: J. Beveridge, P. Albert, M. Harrington, C. Greiner, A. Hencoski. This year our school band , color guards and twirlers under the supervi- sion and guidance of Mr. Ames and Mrs. Kelaher, had entertained the student body at assemblies, pep rallies, and football half- times. At Christmas the band put on a special con- cert for the school, which, to say the least, was fantas- tic. Mr. Ames made a jazz arrangement for the band to perform that was really entertaining. The result was the most successful assembly ever had at K . H . S . The objectives of these organizations, says Mr. Ames, is to involve stu- dents in an activity and to improve musicianship and coordination . Debbie Boyce was most outstanding twirler, as Mr. Ames depended on her to get the girls involved in twirling. The most out- standing band member was Ariel Schembri, who dedi- cated the most time to his instrument. Ariel will always be remembered for the way he livened up the cheerleaders' bus on the way home from the football games. The group marched in the Memorial Day Parade last year, and has visited Car- negie Hall.
