These expressions represent four years of emotions h happiness and sadness, suc- cess and failure, anticipation and cxultation. Col- lege took hold of a bunch of little stones and tossed them into the stream called life h life in its truest form. Kean College gave each of us the opportunity to meet people from all over the world right here on campus. In fact, some students have compared our campus to a miniature United Nations. The most important part is that while we were learn- ing about our fellow students and their unique ways. we discovered more about ourselves! EXPRESSION For most of us, college has been a time of studying. working and fooling around, although not necessarily in this order. With parents not so nearby. we have had the Chance to experiment and hypothesize about life. It is these personal expressions that have given a genuine focus to what really took place behind the scenes. It has been the sincere intent of the staff of the 1989 Memorabilia to capture a yearis worth of expressions and to reminisce with you over our time together. Look at the pictures, then Close your eyes and journey back to the days of when you were a college student. Open them up again and page through the expressions of our lives preserved within these pages. Thank you for play- ing such a special part in the Memorabilia of Kean College. IS it their major, style of dress, who they know. what campus groups they're involved with, hob- bies and other interests? You bet. Life as a student is very challenging and the responsibilities are enor- mous. The first few weeks at college can be extremely confusing until acquain- tances are made with fellow Students. The friendships that we Form here will delinitely influence our fu- tures. It scents interesting how we change and grow as an individual as we make life changing decisions such as deciding our major, con- tinuing our education, and the art of budgeting our small student incomes. We did a lot of learning inside tlte classroom and a lot outside. Alkesh Shah, Miller Montealegre, and myself. I am in debt to Professor Cone and my classmates. Mr. Ted Cone encouraged us and stressed to us how important it is to immerse ourselves in practical and applicable educational experiences. The responsibility of compiling the yearbook presented a perfect opportunity to do this. and thus the process began. Graphic Arts class went far beyond what the claserOm presented. and gave all of us what is in each of our hands as we read through our college Memorablilia. The production of this years Memorabilia is an example of a revolution. Students have taken on a personal responsibility for getting the job done, and have rebuilt that which needed serious attention. In the past, years seemed to pass quickly while students who had graduated could not get their hands on previous editions that were to come out much later. This Memorabilia of 1989 has been a total success due to the loyalty of its editorial board. Each of them has made a personal contribution to this book. The accomplishments of these dedicated editors will continue in the following editions of the Kean College Memorabilia. Any change is stressful and yet ItChange is the norm, says Dr. Springer of the Psychology Department. I testify to the fact that our yearbook has changed, and I am truly proud. It was a process that involved recruitment and patience. One had to be trustful that others would come through, and ultimately they did. Not only did the editors perform their own duties efficiently, they also encouraged and guided me in time of need. Many special thanks to Belen Pardo, Luciana Crespo, Dean Stazer and. most importantly. Alkesh Shah. Well, 110w that the yearbook is published, let me vacation in Europe and retreat to Germany. It is there that I can sit back and relax . . . and reminisce over a truly good bier. It has been most challenging and rewarding being the Editor-in-Chief ofthe 1989 Memorabilia.
