There is nothing to compare to the thrill of accomplishment you experienced when you received that hard-won di- ploma! We at Kaynor are proud to have shared with you the realization of that achievement and to have seen your growth over four years to become mature and skilled young citizens, ready to participate more fully in fam- ily life and in the world of work. Our nation needs the likes of you for a stronger future. May you enjoy your part in building that future in our ... one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all. Mr. Rossi Director Assistant Director Congratulations to the class of 1981. Apply the knowledge you have learned in a positive manner, not only for yourself, but to help others less fortu- nate. You have had the opportu- nity to be guided by a special man who has placed his mark on you and many other stu- dents over the years. Mr. John Rossi has left a lasting impres- sion on Kaynor Tech. The best way for me to describe Mr. Rossi is the following: The great man is he who choses the right with invincible resolutions; who resists the sor- est temptations from within and without; who bears the heaviest burdens cheerfully; who is calmest in storms, and most fearless under menace and frowns; and whose reli- ance on truth, on virtue, and on God, is most unfaltering. Mr. Tifford, Mrs. Speras. Bottom. Mrs. Lobutos. Miss Loiseou - Mrs. Augostine Mrs. Allen Mrs. McWoid 6 Dedication We the Nineteen-hundred and eighty-one graduating class of Kaynor Technical Scool respectfully dedicate this twenty-sixth edition of The Panther to: Mr. Gary L. Manack. Over the past four years we came to know and respect Mr. Manack for his dedication to teaching and his devotion to his students. By our junior year only a few of us had not had the privledge of being in one of his English classes, but all of us knew him for his unique way of teaching. He used humor, wit and understanding to hold the attention of every student in every one of his classes. Mr. Manack's classes were most exciting and each one of us looked forward to attending. After the first term of our senior year, Mr. Manack was given the opporunity to share his special gift with students at another technical school closer to his home. We were all deeply saddened when we first heard the news of his leaving. Then we realized it would be selfish to want to keep such a wonderful person from sharing his talents with others. We knew that he too, was saddened, yet happy and eager to accept his future challenge, so we in turn were happy for him. We truly hope that he will always remember the graduating class of 1981, for we will always remember him. We also hope that his gift in teaching will enable each one of us to succeed, thus repaying him for his time and efforts spent in our behalf. We use this dedication as a symbol of the beginning of that repayment to our former instructor and very dear friend: MR. GARY L. Those of you whom I have had the pleasure of working closely with, certainly have displayed all of the fine qualities that insure success. I truly hope that some of the basic tenets of our educational endeav- ors will remain with you and will be- come a meaningful part of your lives. Mr. Manacek 10 Time, the stuff life is made of, passes all to quickly. It should never be squan- dered. The Class of 1981 has made good use of time ... dispite the noise of hammers and the crumbling walls, the ditches, the sewer lines, the heating sys- tem, the PA system, the fire alarms and fire trucks, the clocks, the bells, the tele- phones, the pile drivers, the trucks, the trailers, the tom-up driveways, the park- ing. the gymateria and cafanasium . It wasn't easy, but we endured ... a little scarred ... but tougher and more resil- lient. We were tested and we won. We acquired an educational experience that we will always remember. Some day, as you look through these pages, you will reflect on these days with nostalgia. You will then, perhaps, under- stand that nothing of value is ever ac- complished without perserverance. disci- pline and human sacrifice. Learning is a never-ending process. It begins at the time of fertilization and continues until death ... from one gen- eration to the next. Schools have been charged with the primary responsibility for providing the materials and personnel in an environment conducive to learning. Millions of dollars have been spent to make sure that the physical plants are sufficient... we have come a long way from the one-room school house ... in less than eighty years. We now have the more formidable task of making sure these million dollar Yearbook Advisor Parting Thoughts to the class of 1981 recource centers for learning provide the learning experiences that will provide the motivation, self-discipline, and ethical awareness that will lead to productive and wholesome life styles. This is a truly difficult task because it entails changing human attitudes already hardened by T. V. and the electronic media”. But we. with the help of God, shall be equal to the task. We shall overcome. There is only one Mother Barth. There is only one of you. Keep your body healthy with wholesome food and plenty of exer- cise. Treat sugar, alcohol, smoke and drugs with extreme caution. Do not pol- lute the air you breathe, the water you drink or the soil you till. Together with the sun. they are the cource of all life. Do not waste your time trying to accu- mulate vast somes of money and materi- al wealth. Few, if any, deep rooted hu- man problems can be solved with either. Remember that knowledge is the key that unlocks the door to human accep- tance ... and love is the force that pre- vents it from closing. The road to happiness is narrow and covered with obstacles. A good set of rules will keep you on course. The best set of rules I have ver found is the TEN COM- MANDMENTS. (If God wants a permissive society He would have issued Moses the Ten Suggestions.) Live by them and pro- ceed with caution. Go forth with firm endeavor and a pur- pose ever true. Let your motto be per- fection in whatever you may do. You have a reputation to uphold and a tradi- tion to maintain. In behalf of all the teachers in the Relat- ed Department of Kaynor Technical School. I extend my heartiest congratula- tions. I hope that you will remember us as we will remember all o you. With love. God Luck and May God Bless. Michael R. Emanuel n IN MEMORY OF ANTHONY OARNIERO WILLIAM STASAITIS The graduating class would like to take this opportunity to recall to memory two former students, Anthony Corniero and William Stosoitis. Although all of us did not hove the pleasure of knowing them as well os we would hove liked, still o port of our doss was lost, with the deaths of these young men. For those of us who hod the priviledge of knowing them well, the memories of good times will never be forgotten. On the night of June 12, the doss of 1981 graduated. This was o special time for oil of us. Although their names were not colled to receive o diploma, the memory of them was not forgotten. Tony and Bill were indeed the type of individuals Koynor would hove proudly graduated. Irene Adams Alice Hairdressing Cosmetology August 31. 1963 You're dead wrong. It's your fantasy. ... We hope that it will forever be able to remind you of the good we shared at Kaynor Tech. In the beginning of our Senior year we all had an opportunity to get involved in the producing of this yearbook. We were asked to solicit area businesses to help in the financing of the book. Although handful of us took advantage of this opportunity the results were tremendous, and of grt us. the yearbook committee, and our yearbook advisors Mr. Emanuel and Mr. Manacek. were so great that we are proud to present you with the 1981 Panther, free of charge, gift to you. There v as an incentive offered by the yearbook advisors. Anyone who sold $500 worth or advt_ ments would receive recognition for it in the yearbook. Here we notice the three students who took on the challenge and achieved. They are. John Coscia, Anthony Mangiapane, and Marcus Thompson. We all are endebted to these students and all of the others who helped by soliciting area businesses and making this yearbook possible. Please patronize these businesses and show appreciation for their contribution. We sincerely hope that you are pleased with this yearbook. Best wishes for the future to all our classmates.
