Text from Pages 1 - 160 of the 1975 volume:

SUNSET Youth sets there with the sun. He'll rise again, But never quite the same. Today is over. And love no more with finger-tips of pain Will touch the lips of loved one and of lover. This light that dies upon the Western plain Will burn upon the east again like fever, But we shall look for love again in vain, We who have said farewell to youth forever. For, like two rivers gathering their forces, Our lives go forward, smoother, deeper under; We hear no more the tumult of our sources, We feel no more the hill-encircled thunder. But seek, instead, down ever broader ways, The deeps of ocean, and the end of days PANTHER Technical School Connecticut Volume 20 THE WHITE HOUSE WA SHINGTON TO THE 1975 HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES: As high school graduates, you are passing an important milestone. You are about to enter into a society that is filled with challenge and opportunity. What you do with your lives from this point forward will determine not only your personal self-fulfillment, but the general well-being of our nation. You carry with you the hopes of those who know and trust you. The future of America depends on your generation. You can make of America whatever you want. The oppor- tunities before you arc as great as the challenges. Education is the greatest key to a better life. But to open the door of opportunity you need faith in yourselves, pride in what you have accomplished, and the idealism to persevere. If you add to this the awareness that learning never ceases, you will indeed bring to your lives the kind of meaning and satisfaction you seek. I wish you every success on the road ahead. G  Mi ! The ”Kaynor 75” Yearbook honors Mr. Nicholas Augelli. We would like to thank Mr. Augelli for taking time. Time to come back to school nights, to work with us these past two years, in raising money selling coffee and pastry to night school students. Also, for his guidance in the long hours spent in putting all the memories in this book together and for his patience in collecting class dues and various activities throughout our Senior Year. With special committees, Mr. Augelli successfully helped to arrange a most memorable Junior and ”Senior” Prom. Mr. Augelli, you, are especially valued to us because of your sound trust in us as mature young adults. You fought for us to obtain a privilege recent Senior classes had been denied. This was the privilege of spending a two day class trip at Hershey, Penn. For this and more, Mr. Augelli we all THANK YOU . . . Please accept this dedication of our yearbook as a token of our gratitude and love. 4 Class of '75 Miss Mary O’Riley Many thanks to Miss Mary O'Riley for her help in organizing our class these past two years, and for the organization of cake sales. 5 John L. Rossi, Director My dear Graduates - By the time you read this message, I will have already congratulated you at your graduation ceremony. Now, for the permanent record, I repeat my congratulations and add best wishes for happiness and success in all that you undertake. Sometimes, in considering how we arc equipped for hap- piness and success in life, it helps to look at the way Nature has outfitted us: with two ears, so that we can lis- ten twice as much as we speak ; with the hand that cannot clasp itself, but can grasp another hand in friendship or offer a lift to a fellow human being. Then there is the inner voice” we all have. Socrates said of this voice that it never told him what he SHOULD do, but it always told him what he should NOT do. That same voice is in you. If you listen to it, you will continue to be good Kaynor graduates all your lives. Stop by once in a while to remind us how well you are listen- ing. J. L. Rossi To the Class of ’75: Thank you all for coming to Kaynor Tech. You added much to the school’s history - good students, good citizens, and good athletes. The large number of Honor Roll students, the growth of the National Honor Society members, your partici- pation in voter registration, bloodmobile programs, and your success in athletics all, were outstanding. It was a distinct pleasure to serve you as Assistant Director of the school dur- ing your high school days. Best of luck, JohnJ. Mills 6 John J. Mills, Ass’t Director DANIEL KEEFE Guidance Counselor You are 10 be congratulated for the knowledge and skills acquired while at Kaynor. The responsibilities and participation that go with adulthood are mas- sive; your value to mankind can only be determined by your will- ingness to use all your resources to help make the world a better place for your generation and the following ones. 1 want to wish the class of 75 success and happiness in all their endeavors, and I am happy to have been a part of their lives. Mr. Kopsick has been our counselor since our Fresh- man year. His willingness to over-extend himself on our behalf will always be remembered and appreci- ated. Mr. Kopsick has helped us as a group and more important has assisted us in solving our many indi- vidual problems. To Mr. Kopsick the class of '75 gratefully says - THANK YOU!
