Following graduation from Surface Wtrltre Olhcer School Department Head Course, Class 67, hc served consecutive department head tours as Chief Engineer in ZC67' ames F. Deppe Commander nited States QWY USS COOK CFP-10831 from june 1981 to january 1983, and Operations Officer in USS IUNEAU QLPD- 101 from March 1983 to August 1984. His Executive Officer tour was in USS MCCLUSKY CPFC-411 from December 1986 through December 1988, followed by assignment as Cl1ief'Stal7f Officer in the staff of Commander, Destroyer Squadron 23 from February 1989 to October 1990. His initial shore tour assignment was as a Navigation and Seamanship Instructor at the Yard Patrol Craft Branch. NETC Newport, R1 from August 1977 to August 1980. During this tour he completed a Master' of Education degree at Providence College. Commander Deppe's lirst Washington assignment was as a Detail ' and Sea Coordinator at the Bureau of Naval Personr' -i from August 1984 to August 1986. Most recently. ' 1- served as Assistant for l'olitical-Military Issues, CNO Executive Pat 1 stafFlOli'-00K1 from December 1990 to june 1992. Commander Deppe's personal decorations include the lvleriti- 1 ous Service Medal 121, the Navy Commendation Medal 121 and ' .v Navy Achievement Medal. He is married to the former Ellen Marie Shaid of Corona-' 1. California.
