32!CBE Il KHS Workmg Secretaries Cooperative Business Education teaches students secretarial skills and office practices in the classroom and on the job training. Each student in CBE II has an office job in the local area. CBE II participated in many community projects throughout the year. They participated in the Imperial Lions Walk-a-thon and in the Cerebral Palsy Walk-a- thon. They also duplicated the sponsor sheets and maps for the Cerebral Palsy clinic. CBE Il also attended plays given by Lakeland Little Theater, and helped in school projects. They went in with other clubs to buy carpet and drapes for Mr. Harrison's office, and assisted with the financial records for .lun- ior class magazine sales, counting the money and keep- ing accurate records. Some of the social events throughout the year included before school breakfasts at many of the leading restaurants in town. All social events were held at the homes of students, with the exception of the hack-to-school party which was held with all Co-op students at Sportsman park. The club had several money making projects which included selling ribbons for all football games and selling win- dow stickers and plaques. FFA the Teclmzques 0 Mechanzzed Agriculture The Future Farmers of America was a nation wide organization for boys and girls which are interested in the field of agricul- ture. Competition is encouraged by the many fairs and exhibits in which students partici- pated. These activities were based on county, state, and federal levels. CBE l is the club on campus in which the girls go to work after three hours of required classes. The club teaches skills in secretarial management and office techni- ques. This past year, breakfasts were held in local restaurants. During the summer, a picnic was held to prepare the girls for the studies in which the year would bring. For a money-making project, plaques, school rib- bons, and candy were sold. At the end of the year, a banquet was held honoring the students and their employers.
