Yearbook: Energy saving staffers caught barely streaking across deadlines Perhaps the hardest part of yearbook staffing for many of our inmates, came when it was time to get back into the normal stream of everyday Kahi living. Finding it hard to re-adjust many staf- fers felt awkward eating lunch outside of Room 17, without so much as a proof sheet to look at. The mere mention of emotional topics in the casual lunch time conversations, such as deadlines or ten point, caused many a lip to tremble. Many found the outside world unchallenging with it's few and far between earth-shaking problems and longed for the life of a roving reporter. Unfortu- nately, the shock proved too great as some staffers, unable to cope with the hostile environment, fell by the wayside when they no longer had their birthday celebrated by loud-mouthed year- bookies. Alas, they were such a good group. Seldom the day went by when they did not have at least a mildly humorous joke or a refreshing tidbit from the Photo Staff. But perhaps a bit of the traveling minstrel in them all can be gleaned from these precious pages, harvested with their own toil, if not always out of love, perhaps obligation.
