Health-Drivers Ed. basic aspects of sophomores life This year the Driver Education classes experienced a new system where one day classes would study driving procedures, the second day they would use the simulators to practice it, and the third day they would drive the car. By the end of the course they were ready to ob- tain their drivers license, after reaching the age of sixteen. The second semester the Health Dept. introduced sophomores to the different aspects of Health, learning the bones and parts of the body, knowing standard First Aid, and finding out the healthy way to live. Here they were tested and trained to see what they were best skilled in, and then they were given a job. Students were given a new opportunity to express themselves and their ideas. Learning and searching for the answers to science was the primary goal in the Science Dept. this year. Oceanography field trips were taken to explore tide pools at Corona Del Mar. Second semester brought a new subject to Katella, a Horticulture class, which taught students about plants and their care, while using the greenhouse.
