Mr. Burns Qs-Q Mr. Werschlce Through their foreign language classes, students were shown both differences and similarities of the languages and cultures of other people. Teachers aimed to advance students' ability in understanding and speaking their par- ticular language. Classes were made interesting by the teach- ers' personal experiences in the countries of their specializa- tion. The presence in class of natives from France, Mexico, Venezuela, Germany and other countries made language come alive, as did trips to see the native dances and music and the sampling of foreign cuisine. Students who wanted a math course which met the needs for everyday use, were given the new consumer math course by Mr. Slocum. Students wanting more than this went onto Calculus, Analysis or Plain and Solid Geometry. Teachers forcused on helping to prepare math and engineer- ing majors for college study. - 4 1 1 16 , .' 1 fa 9' Q s as ' 2-, ,gn fy, :mn ' M .c its L J-1. ,sp --.. s - . 1' 1. -eie Q c .e..i,. -al if y ,- Mr. Messenger Mr Kenneth M Green Mrs. Pat Griffiths Mr. George Hamada Mrs. Delaine Higashi Mr. Don Howells German U S History Career Guid., ROP, Pep Club Geometry-Alg. Mr. Sweeney D 'N Mr. Vincent Students have always looked forward to P.E. as a period of relaxation and fun, This year was no different. With the intro- duction of backpacking and skiing to girls classes and the expantion of the gym facili- ties, hopes for diversifications were raised. This year Knights excelled in athletic en- deavors, successfully completing 1,620,000 push-ups, and equal number of sit-ups, jumping jacks too mumerous to count, and occasional leg-fits depending on the mood of the coaches. The department creativity was exemplified by these advancements in the areas of running four corners, side- stepping, and butt ball. 41' Miss Pressel Mr Bob Lampshire , Head Football Coach, Adapt.
