The Senate functioned as a back-up and source of ideas for the different class events. The Senators of each grade with their respective class officers, planned for the Sophomore Class's Turkey Shoot, the lunior Class's junior-Senior Prom and the Seniors' Homecoming and hot chocolate sales. Senators tried hard to combat apathy and become involved, but much of their enthusiasm was watered down by a largely non-appreciative student body. The House of Representatives approved more legislation than it initiated. As with the Senate, the House 50-Happenings never got off the committee level until second semester because of the lack of support a united student body can give. Ideas were hard to come by, but that problem was somewhat remedied by the Suggestion Box. The Cabinet idea of the Student Park was approved by both the Senate and the House. Almost defunct by mid-year, the Inter- Club Council formed new committees and regrouped. Katella's club presidents hashed over placing the club's shields above the first floor on the main building, and with the re-organized I.C.C. the project materialized.
