The Katella High School Vocal Music Department was an active group during 1972-73. The Madrigal Singers and A Capella Choir had numerous performances during the Christmas Season, including Holiday in Music, where the Katella Choirs combined with Kennedy's, and the Katella Band and Drill Team to form the highlight of the show. The Christmas tree sale, though a lot of fun, was not as profitable as before. Following Christmas vacation the choral groups went vigorously to work on their music for the spring choral festivals and the special I Am An American day, held in Disneyland in February. This year the choirs combined with the Drill Team and other organiza- tions on campus to present a special Spring Show. Talent from all over campus was featured in this very successful show. The end of the year was climaxed by the choirs' annual tour to San Francisco. Ninety-two singers and performers went on the tour-which proved to be, One of the best ever! This year the girls in Homemaking were espe- cially original and creative with their Christmas designs for ornaments and hangings. Creativity doesn't end at a painting or a piece of music, but can be found in making something beautiful out of ordinary things. i ABOVE: Rugs and needlepoint were among the home arts and crafts displayed by Homemaking Club members.
