' t i .. tmsm- H M M It has been a busy season for the Scarlet Chevalier Drill Team, under the leadership of Carol Teno. The year started with a handful of halftimes, and Parades. Honors were received from the Halloween, and Hawthorne Parades. February brought the Miss Drill Team U.S.A. pageant, where 12 girls participated. Various other activities were in- cluded such asp Pizza sales, per- forming in Assemblies, and en- joying the Mexican Dinner, and Pot Lucks held. Head Leader, Carol Teno, in her second year as leader performed excellently, es- pecially at the Miss Drill Team U.S.A. pageant. This year a new rule was enforced, being that all girls trying out for song or cheerleader must be an active member of Pep Club. Sign painting, eagerly yelling at games, acting in assemblies, and attending all kinds of athletic events brought the cheerleaders and the Pep Club together as friends. Pep Commissioner, Rhonda Ricketts worked with enthusiasm by organizing all events. Two mascots, Karen Shea and Kathy Doyle were chosen, adding color and excitement to the games. Mr. Mc- Carthy, advisor, willingly gave sug- gestions, and advice. A rewarding year has past for the Pep Club, but the best is yet to come. Happenings-29
