the lonesome picker rides again guitar on his back a sad song in his heart, the drifter of the plains climbs onto his pony and is off again, alone with the wind. he plays at whistlestops, at taverns and at churches, asking nothing but a few pennies as applause, for his wine and his bread and his strings. the lonesome picker rides again, some say out of foolishness and others say vanity, with a bottle of port for company, he rides the plains he rides alone. -Eddie Ashworth
