Knights in White Satin. Katella's Homecoming week helped to bring about a feeling of pride and spirit. Pep Club, Drill Team, Cheer and Songleaders contributed their early morning hours to tee-peeing the school, the football players' and the coaches' houses. G.A.A. sold carnations for their traditional flower sale. The Homecoming assembly was definitely the highlight of the week. It was a first for Katella since so many teachers contributed their time and talents. Mike Gibbs, Student Body President of 1971-1972, was also on hand at the Pep assembly to bolster school spirit. The Homecoming game was exciting although Katella met defeat. Song and Cheerleaders from previous years were present at the game as well as the assembly to heighten school spirit. During halftime, Miss Pam Heilson was crowned 1972-1973 Homecoming queen. Princesses were elected with Sue Bertaina and Cindy Rodriguez being sophomore and junior respectively and Rhonda Ricketts and Wendy Asbra senior princesses.
