Kaskaskia College's President. . . Dr. Paul L. Blowers MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT I am proud to be affiliated with Kaskaskia College, its students, its teaching faculty, administrators, and supporting staff. We at Kaskaskia College look forward to continued educational service to our students and community. We expect growth through new program development, expanding and improving current programs, encouragement of creativity, and an understanding of education and its privileges and responsibilities. Y Education is the bond which truly holds a democratic free human being together. Through education you can develop the ability to understand yourself, others, and how individuals and groups function together. The development of skills of communi- cation, whether they be written or spoken, becomes primary. Computational skills are necessary to assist in functioning in any sophisticated society. Dependent upon the individual's maturity and readiness for skill acquisition, the acquiring of knowledge of various careers, exploring of lower level career skills, and finally the selection of an entry career field is primary to my goals for an education for all. Education should be considered to be a life-long pursuit which is pursued in both formal and informal settings. Education takes place at Kaskaskia College, at home, at work, at play, or in any circumstance where the individual actively strives to change hisfher perspective of a given situation. The faculty, staff, and administration at Kaskaskia College sincerely hope that your educational experiences this year have been self fulfilling and your future efforts, be they education or otherwise, will be successful.
