For most of us, we have been students here four years. And now, though hesitantly, we must leave by the open door and step out confidently to face a future that is very uncertain. But in whatever degree of success or failure we may find ourselves in years to come, if a glance at these pages will lighten our labors and ease our pains - if only for a moment - we deem our yearbook work worth-while. Witnesses: The Olson's, Karen Sa Byron fx A x S94 f. L' by enior C ass Prop ecy Dear Kathy, I was so glad to hear you and Gene found a nice home in Madagascar. lt's too bad Carl Olson, your employer, fired you last year so you couldn't be here for the reunion. It sure doesn't seem like ten years since we graduated, does it? By the way, we had our class' reunion last week and being you were the only one missingl thought I'd let you know what the others are doing now. Gerald Anderson and Garvin Olson are still going to college. It seems these boys always had a deep craving for more schooling. Alfred, Lee, and Doug were all excited about their new movie that was just produced. It was an oldy, The Three Stooges , which made a terrific comeback. I always knew these three were destined for stardom. Diane Fossell is married and living on a farm by Greenbush. Shirley still hasn't been able to make up her mind about J' ack. Seems they lost the key to the glove compartment on top of it. Although Joel is very dedicated to his work in Dark Africa, he was able to attend the reunion. He really is busy over there and tells us the natives learn fast. Gail is still modeling the ever famous slim J im pants in Paris. Wayne Pederson accepted the position as local band director when Carl Olson retired. Roger has finally succeeded in taking over Hansen's physics class. Hansen retired last year from overwork. , Sandra is really up in society now. She married the head of the American Tobacco Co., after her second divorce became finaL Seems she can't make up her mind - love or money. Naomi is married and lives on a farm South of town. Janice S joblom is modeling stout dresses for the mature figure. 7 Janice Syverson is working for the American Foreign Relations Committee. Seems she was always the friendly type. Luanne is playing piano for the well-known County Playboys. She always was music minded. Lorelei is employed at Clark's Cafe. She is the highest paid waitress in town. Bonnie and Royle are playing the lead roles in Shakespeare's, Romeo and Juliet . Currently on broadway stage. - , James is working for a patent for his latest discovery, the power-packed roar more muffler. Hillary has proved it's high quality by using it on his race car at Indianapolis. Arvid is employed at I-Ienry's Junk Yard. r Bryce and Larry brought disgrace on our class by being arrested for operating a still under Pelan bridge. - A ' Evelyn is still on .T ackie Gleason Show as his lovely and away we go girl. f X ' , ffjv 0 0 4 4 !vA xi? . ff K - -- We V 4 ' ' ' 4 ' 1: I ., K r ------ma x . SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY - Cont. Rumor hsas it that Margaret is now employed by your former employer, Carl Olson, as his private Secretary. Harris is now head of the Air Force. He was born to be a leader, that boy. I'm fine, although tired. It's been such a strain on me sincel took over the Mayo Clinic. A Classmate, lone nior C ass Ifsfory Four years ago, the fall of 54 , thirty-two greenlfreshmen were put through the mill by the Sophomores. We were a good-looking bunch with gunny sack skirts and other garb ap- propriate to the occasion. We were given the works from water-soaked doughnuts to cold, sat- urated spaghetti. As Sophomores we took advantage of the Freshmen and returned the devilishment which was handed us the year before. Most of our Sophomore year was rather quiet, though we did alot of studying, a few of the members were called upon to serve at the Junior-Senior Banquet. In November of our Junior year we ordered our class rings and it seemed to most of us as though we'd never get them. In the Spring of 58 we put on our Junior class play, Old Doc , playing the lead was Lee Gack, one of the better actors in the class. We wound up the year with the Junior-Senior Banquet, which we put on. The theme was An Evening inParis. Our Senior year seemed to go fast and it hardly seemed like we had enrolled when Christmas vacation was right on top of us. We were never so busy in our lives. In the fall we put on our Senior Class Play, A Man Called Peter . . . this play proved to be a lot of fun besides a great success. The end of the year came to a close with thelunior-Senior Banquet and of course baccalaureate and graduation exercises. We were a bit sad to leave Karlstad High, but we were glad to be able to go on to bigger and maybe better things in College. ,Q -1: . ' 2115 g 5 X F-L O!
