NTERING HIGH scnooi. for the first time on September 5, 1945, the class of '49, after the initiation, settled down to the long school year. A picnic in the spring was given to the sophomores. The class was advised by Mr. Arthur Neate. The sophomore year was much more enjoyable than the freshman year, for initiatf ing is much more fun than being initiated. Mr. Carl Storlie was the adviser that year. Coming back to school in '47 as upper-classmen, the class had the Junior Prom with its theme Lamp Lighters Serenade. The Prom was a great success. The play, So Help Me, presented by the class of '49 on March 12, 1948, was also successful. THE SOPHOMORE CLASS L... 1- .. TOP PICTURE- OFFICERS Left to right, bottom 'r0w+President Second Semester. The class was advised in the Hrst year by Mr. Earl Platt. In the fall of '47 the class received its revenge by initiating the new freshmen. The sophomore class is the largest in school. Several of the boys made letters in sports. With the help of Mr. Don Carsten and Mr. Frank Kellogg, the class of '50 is looking ahead to the days of upperclassmen. COLD CUP WINNER VERY SPRING the Kapowsin Girls' Club carefully considers the ideals and qualities of every member who has attended K.H.S. for at least three semesters, so that they may choose the girl who is to receive the highest award in the Club, the gold cup. The cup is a symbol of the highest type of girlhood, leading to the development of a fine and worthy woman. Miss Jean Christoph is the fortunate girl whose name has been inscribed on the cup for the year of 194748. Jean was chosen for this high honor because of her true school spirit, her high scholastic average and her sincere friendliness. Jean's other qualities are neatness in dress, refinement and ladylike actions. She is too noble to speak ill of others and is always willing to forget and forgive. jean has been ready at all times to give her service to the school and to appreciate what is done for her. May jean Christoph be justly proud of her achievement. V BUCK gow SUUS TRHEUNQUNWMQPLEUWTYI H4 PUHHLLUP HVEHUE TQCCDVTWQ LLJQS-H.
