SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS WARD NINE . . . Dr. J. Peverly Broussard, a practicing veter- inarian for ten years in the city of Kaplan, is currently a school board member. A 1948 graduate of Kaplan High School, he attended college at U.S.L. for four years and later Texas A. and M., where he received his D.V.M. degree. A MAN WITH A PURPOSE “It is my wish that each student who attends Kaplan High will be a better person when he leaves than he was when he came.” Our principal, Mr. Adlar Hebert, looks upon each student as an individual with potential. He takes time to help each student realize and develop this potential. It is in this endeavor, as in all other areas under his guidance and influence, that Mr. He- bert is a successful and respected principal. 13

Mr. Connie Kaplan is usually seen around the town performing his many duties as the edi- tor of one of the newspapers in Kaplan, “The Kaplan Herald.” He is also a partner in the Kaplan Rice Insur- ance Agency. He shows much interest in all of our school activities and has given us much co- operation as a school board member. MR CONRAD KAPLAN Besides being an active school board mem- ber, Mr. Dunice Lee Meaux is kept quite busy with his regular occupation, which is farming. Every year he plants 165 acres of rice, takes care of it during the year, and harvests it when it is ripe. Although he has much to do, he still finds time to fly, which is his favorite hobby. He also loves children and has seven of his own.
