'pniHCcfiaC Dear Seniors: For the past twelve years you have been studying the fundamental prin- ciples of our American system. You have learned that during its 174 years America has survived many severe crises. Each new generation will be faced with new problems to solve, some more critical than others. The survival of our American system will depend on how you, an alert American with an active mind, put in practice the basic principles you were taught during those formative years. You learned that the rights and privileges you now enjoy were earned and not given, and that laws imposed by the order of a few can never solve fundamental differences imbedded in the hearts and minds of the majority. You should study each problem carefully and not let your grievances over- shadow the many opportunities America has to offer. B. J. Bordelon
