DEDICATION EDUCATOR - COMMUNITY LEADER - PARENT These three appositives cannot begin to describe the person to whom this I960 yearbook is dedicated - Mr. Earl Comeaux. Born and reared in Kaplan. Mr. Comeaux has shown great leadership qualities both in high school and college. As an educator in the fields of French. English, and Civics, he inspires students to work towards achievement in life and practices the principles which he teaches in Civics which acclaim him a community leader. As a parent, he inspires his family to develop spir- itually, socially, and educationally. He has taught his followers to lead a more useful and satisfying life by means of education, spiritual, and social activities. For this, we make this dedication.

You, as students of the Kaplan High School, represent America's greatest resource and re- sponsibility. The way you grow and develop, the knowledge and ability you gradually acquire, the attitude and conduct which characterize your living, are of paramount importance to the con- tinued well-being of our nation. In the midst of present economic and social changes that have resulted from unprecedented technological developments, we find ourselves living in an age that demands more wisdom and more responsibility than ever before. The complexities of today's world call for you to acquire broader knowledge, greater skill, and deeper understanding. You must also learn how to analyze propaganda, seek the truth, and recognize the techniques that are injurious to the welfare of mankind. You have the teacher and the place; so you, as the child, must make use of every oppor- tunity to prepare for the future.
