J 6 ,,,4d3m A A STREET CAR NAMED DESIRE The new year was kind to Kansas Wesleyan in bringing to her Ed Guinan. This man who is of an Eastern upbringing stepped right into the position of head of the Drama depart- ment when it was vacated by Rick Crouse, With Ed came a drive and determination that inspired the entire department. The department put on three major produce tions during the year: The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch, The Invisible Dragon, and A Streetcar Named Desire. All of the productions were overwhelming successes, as they were a bright spot for which all of Kansas Wesleyan and the entire Drama Dee partment can be proud of. The highlight of the year was the production ofthe Tennessee William's play, A Streetcar Named Desire. With lead roles being played by Leigh Davis, Keith Burns, Melody Smith, and Kathleen Partridge, this play was called by some the best play that has ever blessed the stage of Fitzpatrick Auditorium, As we look forward to next year and what- ever surprises Ed may have for us, we would like to deliver to him a big congratulae tions on the past year, and best wishes for his hopefully long future with Kansas Wes- leyan, Eunice Hubbell .... We forget that there are those who are yet with us, and in fact yet contributing to this college that also deserve thanks and recognition. The staff of the Coyote Yearbook would like to then take this time to say that even though we were not around when you first started working for the old alma mater you must have been a great secretary We can make that assumption because we know that you are a good person, and a great leader in the registrar's office. We understand that you have a reputation for not being the nicest lady in the world, FN but we can see right through that disguise F As many times as you have helped us out of jams, and worked out our problems for us, we just can not believe that you are all that bad. But you can just go right on pretending if you want to, because for us you do a job that stands out as a shining star in a world of mediocrity. Thanks M Q ,K . xi. Student Senate The Student Senate at Kansas Wesleyan had another fine year. The officers of the Student Senate for the 1979 - 80 school year vvereg Tyler Nelson Cpresidentl, Loren Wilson Nice-Presidenrb, Jim Shafer CTreasurerD, Verla Bennett CSecretaryD, Keith Harris Cpublic Relations Managerb, and Danny Winston CActivities Directorb. Together with the help of many organizations, they put together a year with splendid activities, that vvere of interest, and special appeal to the student body. The Student Senate continued to be the major student supported organization on campus. By collecting student fee's the Senate vvas able to put out the best paper that Kansas Wesleyan has seen in many years, this yearbools is paid for by student senate monies, and all student activities are supported by the Student Senate. Tyler Nelson vvho vvill be student body president for the 1980 - 81 year as vvell, vvas very encouraged with the progress that the Senate had made in the last year, and very excited about Wesleyan's future, !'The Student Senate is responsible for much more than just activities on this campus, With sound leadership, enthusiastic, and ambitious people, the Student Senate can develop into one of the primary forces on this campus. Not just in activities, but in administrative decisions, and a general shaping of students attitudes on campus. Remember Peaches and Herb? This year the school hired on Columbus Services to talse care of the maintenance at K.W. Herb Knuth, who had been vvith Wesleyan for many years, vvas I-larold Cpeachesi Marlovve's right hand man. What a team!!! .,-f And let's give credit, vvhere credit is due. Tracy Johnson served as Wesleyan's faithful Postal vvorlser all year. AQ..
