MURAL BA KETBALL The challenge for basketball was the faculty and staff team. Max Shepard led a team of net stuffing, ball-grabbing professors to the league championship. Pretty good for the ole boys. Yet the big money during the year had to be on Brad Richardson's city league team-the Skyforce. Kuhlman. Stricker. Pflughoft. Bennett, Snell, Ptacek, to name a few of the Skyforces. Other leading players were Mellies, Parry and Schwartz for the Fury. Wright, Weisbender, Conales and Brummer of the Gonads. Umscheid, Carlton and Laver led the Pussycats. Finally Heimar. Abell, Mahoney Burroughs, Gotyl and Parker led a balanced attack for Civil. Our apoligies for those missed. The idea was the brainchild of the SGA to promote Kansas Tech to Salina. When the opportunity to present the public with Kansas Tech. arose, the students really got behind the project. It took two weeks of innovations to finish on time, but it was a project that will probably never be equaled again. Karen Keehner, Kevin Weisbender, Greg Dome, Larry Winter.
