The Environmental Protection
Technology program at Kansas
Technical Institute was developed
to meet the growing public con-
cern overland, water, air, and
food quality. The interest devel-
oped from concerned health of-
ficers, food inspectors and sani-
tary engineers possessing sound
foresight with deep dedication to
the individual public welfare.
KTI is presently expanding a
sound basic program with room for
individual interest and develop-
ment including dual programs with
other departments and universities.
In the past year the environmental
students have made tours of do-
mestic water and waste systems,
industrial waste control, investi-
gated surface water quality and
fish kills, and attended the state
meetings for the American Water
Works Association and Kansas
Water Pollution Control Federation
