E CHOING K-STATE ' S cumulative growth in 1964 were the official transforma- tions of six schools to colleges and the crea- tion of a new College of Architecture and Design. These advances, along with a corre- sponding reorganization of administrative positions, mirrored the expansion of academic programs and the fluid nature of that expan- sion in the eyes of the administrators. Hand in hand with the evolution came the expansion of cooperative studies among research groups newest symbols of a campus transition. In the variety of field concentrations of- fered, the colleges cater to the student whether his interest is in nuclear engineering, bakery management, English or wildlife conservation. For K-State offers curricula as complex and varied as the interests of the student himself. Emphasizing those areas where the stu- dent demands emphasis, K-State ' s administra- tors today seek to provide a more workable division of labor for the achievement of the goals to which Kansas State University turns on the dawn of its second century. Stepping from college to professions, more than 1,600 students received Centennial degrees.
