THE NINETEEN KANILLIO X KANSAS HIGH SCHOOL KANSAS, ILLINOIS SEVENTY-ONE CGNTENTS ADMINISTRATION FACULTY PERSONNEL SENIORS UNDERCLASSIVIEN ACTIVITIES SPORTS ELEMENTARY ADVERTISEMENTS 4 w Always ready to help? Coach Woods has devoted to Kan- sas High School many hours of work in helping us become more active. He has always been willing to sacrifice even more time for the sake of our team. Last year Coach spent many evenings working with our Varsity squad besides helping the J.V. after school. Regardless of how you look at him, he has but one aim-to main- tain and encourage school spirit and sportsmanship. Is that a wig, Cheryl?!? Here at K.H.S., We feel that our school system is being run quite well. Without the helpful suggestions of Mr. Leeth and Mr. Shoot, many of the activi- ties here at Kansas High could not be fulfilled. Even when substitute teachers are hard to find, one of them will step in and take over. We, the Kanillio staff of 1971, salute our administrators for making Kansas High School what it is! The 1970-71 school year has been a very active one for the National Honor Society. In October, the NHS held its annual fall induction ceremony in which two new members were announced. In November, the NHS began a Student of the Week program. Each week an outstanding student was honored. From these students, a Student of the Month was selected. Early in ,7l, the NHS was again a co-sponsor of the chili supper for the Myra Barker Scholarship Fund. In the spring, the NHS held its annual Honors Banquet at which outstanding sophomores were inducted as pro- visional members. This year has been a very fruitful one for the National Honor Society.
