Socially speaking, the members of this notable class, the Junior College girl, divide themselves into Larterettes, associate Delphis, and free lances. Larterettes are common to the club and usually passed on to avoid anything beyond amateur friendships. In short, they combine to make brief cases. Associate Delphis, on the other hand, are more stable. Moreover, they are usually an asset during auditorium study hours. The third class, that of the free lance is more heterogeneous, as the name and common characteristic indi- cate. Often they gather, in groups particularly at college events in order to assert their independence. Again the next time they are likely to make a raid, as true free lance conquistadors. Intellectually, they fall into classes determined by the degree to which they aspire, namely, A.lVI., absolutely marve1ous:lVI.D moderately dumb, and A.B., altogether beautiful. The absolutly marvelous Junior College girl is a vertable paradox, aftermbeing known as a member of one of the classes just described. But just as surely as her wave is permanent, when her rhetoric theme is read runs in marvelous liquid diction through the rapids and ov- er the falls. The moderat. ly dumb girl is a.lready cut out to be either awife or an instructor, for she always answers a question in class with another question: What was the question? or It is such and such a way---is it notn The third class ofthe Junior College girl is extinct. 5
