Herbert Praeter Though their number is somewhat small, the sophomores have been very active, ,both as a class organization and in the extra-curricular activities. ' The election of otlicers was a spirited af- fair, there being five noininees for each office ex- cept one, and the successful candidates winning only after a hard and close race. The first class project discussed was that of putting out the Qwaissa and after the class decided to do this, members of the class immediately began work on the annual. Next the sophomore class initi ated the movement ol' having 'Junior College rings and pins. The freshman class was con- sulted, then the order was given -to Howard Brandenburg, a graduate in the class of 1926. The last important class project was the annual sophomore dance given immediately following' the freshman banquet. The sophomores were well-represented in the Art and Science clubs, having two offi- cers including the President in each. During the first semester there were seventeen Sophomores andtwo Sophomore officers, in the Student Coun- cil, with about the same proportion during the second semester. There were two officers and several members of the French Club from the Sophomore class. There were five sopho- more men on the football team, and the same number on the basketball team. The sopho- mores were also wellsrepresented on the Scrawl and Jayhawk staffs, in the orchestra, and in dramatics. .1O,
