The Dean helps students ln work and play M1ss Lou1se Wood dean of guls smrles at one of the many students who V1S1l her OHICG A charm1ng sm1le and a fnendly greet1ng are character1st1cs of M1ss Lou1se Wood dean of grrls Bes1des teach1ng two Busxness Eng l1sh classes and sponsonng the Grrls Club M1ss Wood 15 often 1n conference w1th repre sentatlves from colleges In th1s way she helps adv1se the sen1ors on colleges they can enter M1ss Wood sponsor and founder of the G1r1s Club IS kept busy w1th the1r servrce and soc1al work One of the most 1mportant th1ngs that she conducted 1n the G1r1s Club th1s year was send1ng boxes of canned food cloth1ng and books to the wartorn fam1l1es of Berl1n M1ss Wood also gave her ass1stance when the Grrls club planned the1r many par tres dur1ng the year As the faculty advxsor of the tutor1ng plan sponsored by the Natronal Honor SOC1elY M1ss Wood IS kept busy arrangmg for stu dents who need help 1n the1r subyects to be tutored by members of the Nat1onal Honor Soclety M1ss Wood 1S act1ve 1n commun1ty affalrs as well as school act1v1t1es She IS a member of the Buslness and Profess1onal Womens Club of Kankakee the Amencan Assoc1at1on of Un1vers1ty Women and the Ill1no1s Asso c1at1on of Deans of Women 14 Handmg out pmk excuses to dehnquent boys IS only one of the many dutles of th1s busy good natured dean Mr Dan Norton also has two econom1cs classes helps coa h the freshman sophomore track team and 1S the faculty advlsor of the Student Counc11 Pep assembhes All School partxes and Student Court meet1ngs keep Mr Norton and the Student Councll busy planmng for them rnost of the year W1thout Mr Norton s help ful gu1dance the Student Councll could not have accomphshed the many th1ngs 1t d1d In March everyone began to look forward to the All School Dance whxch was held March 24 1n the school gym The dance was a success only due to the hard work of Mr Norton and the Student COUHCII Mr Norton helped the members of the Student Counc11 get repaus made around the school try vrolators 1n the Student Court and plan a pep rally w1th a bonfxre for the Homecom1ng football game Has my locker key been turned rn? and I lost a red fountam pen IS often heard around the pr1nc1pa1s offrce One of the m1n or Jobs that Mr Norton has to contend w1th 1S the lost and found department Mr Dan Norton dean of boys presents a student wmth hrs absence excuse O 1 ' nu ' S I if ' 1 I - I . , , 1 1 I ' . , .
