The frrst day of school The frrst day of school what a varlety of meanrngs that phrase held Freshness seemed to dommate everythmg the crrsp brlght dresses and rm maculate tee shuts of the fellows and grrls the rested unharned look of the faculty even the school rtself seemed brrghter more sunny than before Here and there knots of g1rls stood gayly chattrng and comparmg program cards Wh1le the boys dr1fted around the halls harlmg therr frlends As a warnrng bell rang new faces and old mlngled rn the confuslon Scur ry1ng down the halls rn all drrectrons students soon dlsappeared 1nto class rooms to meet the members of the faculty rn l1ISl penod classes Se o shena gans some semors enter1ng a general scrence room7J But the best fresh man Joke of the year occurred when deep 1n concentratron one of the fear ful falter1ngly asked of a passmg sen1or 1n the door way of North Study What do you study 1n here? After the novelty of the frrst few days however students settled down to rout1ne Among the faces seen that frrst day of school were those of old fnends and the less fam1l1ar countenances of the freshmen and transfer students The usual methods were employed by the upper classmen to befuddle new puplls such as peddlmg bubbler trckets Much confuslon ensued when some prankster changed the class room numbers around fD1dn t we see The lust daze of school pflge H1116
