I ll T K 4 410085 96 00 On Aug. 26, 1980, the class of 1983 took their first steps along the path to graduation. A class meet- ing was held at the beginning of the year and class officers were elected. The results were as follows: President - Pam Bell, Vice-President - Karen Huckabone, Secretary - Wendi Jenkins. Treasurer W Sally Emer, and Historian - Annette Lemke. On Sept. 26, the class officers made a homecoming float to represent the class, but unfortunately the parade was rained out. Throughout the year many bakesales were held and candy was sold in order to build up the treasury. On Oct. 22, the first class halloween party was held. The students bobbed for apples, had a pie' eating contest fthe winner being a messy-faced John Pauli and had a cakewalk. The refreshments were donuts and cider and were enjoyed by everyone, Feb. 6 marked the publication of the Sophomore News . The paper was organized bythe officers and informed the class of upcoming events and recog- nized the athletic members of the class. The year OUR FOOTSTEPS TI-IRGUGI-I I, Ogveeb PS proved to be very productive and the class was now ready to move further along the path to graduation. SOP h0m c-Ve Nevis

HIGH SCHOOL Sept. 1, 1981, marked the beginning of a very busy year for the class of 1983. A class meeting was held on the fifteenth and on the twenty-second the new class officers were elected. The results: Presi-- dent - Pam Bell, Vice President -- Karen Huckai bone, Secretary -- Joni Detrick, Treasurer - Cindy Snyder and Historian - Annette Lernke. On Feb. 26, the new Miss Kane High for 1982-1983 was chosen. The candidates were Joni Detrick, Barb Phil- lips, JoAnne Kocjancic, Annette Lemke and Kris Morris. Barb Phillips was chosen to represent Kane at the county fair and Joni Detrick was runner-up. The Junior Class play, entitled David and Lisa , was held on April lst and 2nd, On May 8, the Junior- Senior Prom was held. One hundred and ten couples attended the dance. Friction was the band that played and the theme was Just Between You and Me . The post prom was held at the Elks Club in Kane and the Band was Tite-End . Julie Jones was crowned Prom Queen and Tim Warner as Prom King. 4,00 of si QOL 6 Xxe ,atc ao 50 .xo K - 0 Gdkx S The third and final year of high school for the class of 1983 began on Aug. 31, 1982. On Sept. 2-20, the Senior Magazine Drive was held in Kane. The theme for the drive was Smurfin' to D.C. Mrs. Robinson's homeroom came in first place over all in sales and Mr. Boyer's homeroom came in second place. Kane's homecoming was held on Oct. 9 when the Wolves defeated Sheffield, 36-3. The Homecoming Queen candidates were Pam Bell, Kim Bloomquist, Joni Deirick, Karen Huckabone, JoAnne Kocjancic, Annette Lemke, Kris Morris, and Tammy Ross. Joni cu L1 Cm 30. mr: ru NH- as-- WS Qc 00 Detrick was crowned Queen during the halftime of the football game. The Senior Class play was held on Nov. 19th and 20th. The play was entitled Nothing But The Truth. On Dec. 22nd the Senior class had a Christmas party. There was a pie-eating contest and once again John Paul was the winner. Plenty of re- freshments were provided for everyone and a sound system was rented for a sock hop in the cafeteria. On May 4-6, the Senior Class traveled to Washington, D.C. The Junior-Senior Prom was held on May 14 and the theme was Stairway to Heaven. Finally, on June 7, the Class of 1983 graduated from Kane High School. The path traveled on by each student from his sophomore year until graduation was diffi- cult at times yet proved to be very rewarding. The footsteps taken along this path left definite imprints on the students' lives. The imprints showed both fun times and frustrating times, but nevertheless they both made up the best times of our lives.
