FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA Kamiakin FFA Chapter has grown rapidly in these past three years to become one of the largest FFA Chapters in the Yakima to Tri-Cities area. Presently the active membership totals over one hundred members enrolled in Vocational Agriculture classes and taking part in FFA spon- sored activities. With this growth has come many State awards. At the I 979 State FFA Convention, the FFA Om- cers were awarded plaques in: Aj Community Service improvements for the Kamiakin lands- caping project, B2 and participation in March of Dimes sponsored activities. This fall the Kamia- lcin Chapter competed in the PaciHc Internation- al ,Livestock Exposition and had the 2nd high point individual contestant from over 600 FFA competitors from the states of Washington, Or- egon, Idaho, and California, Included in this years FFA plans are recreational Hshing and camping trips, many agricultural re- lated FFA competitions, trips to numerous areas and state agriculture related activities, another community service activity, and continued sup- port for the March of Dimes programs. The French Club is open to anyone who is now taking or who has taken French. Its purpose is to give students a chance to be together outside the classroom and work together toward common goals. The biggest goal this year has been to raise enough money to bring an Amity Aide to Kamiakin. Our Aide, a French girl who will be here during the Spring, will share her culture and language with us in class.
