SENIOR CLASS HISTORY At the begin ing of the freshman year, 52 green freshmen trudged up the steps of Kamiah High School, to begin their first vear of high school education There were 36 who graduated from Kamiah Grade School, and 16 Joined us at the steps Those oining us were Shirley Eckhard, LeRoy Ja , Jeannie Johnson, ill Louis, Scotty Knight, John Morgan, Char es Nelson, Melvin Marks, Lorene Bacon, Pete Hlbbs, David Lyda, Burton Willey Bernice Thomas, Arthur Lacey, Mary Knight, and David Knight Th first event for the year was the High School Carnival Our candidate was Karon Beth Davis, who, on the night of the carnival was elected carnival queer The traditional initiation then was bestowed upon us by the all4mo willing sophomores Our adviser for our freshmen year was Mrs Werrer AS sophomores we provided entertainment for the Valentine Party of the student body During the year, we gained Jerry Evans lost Bernice Thomas, Charles Nelson Melv1nMarKs,B1l1 Louis Shirley Eckhard, Isaiah Arthur Mary Knight, and David Knight Once again we elected another successiul queen candidate Bobbie Guetzloe We finished our 2nd year of high school with a feeling of pride and with Mr Fairchild as our adviser Time flew and we gathered at K H S to start our junior year We elected Donna fEvansD Maynard, as our princess of the High School Carnival also had a very successful nJunior Jamboree' The big event of the year was our Junior Prom We are sure no one will ever for et the beautiful nDeep Purple W We had with us new this year oe Collins, Marcia Magnuson, Forrest Williams, Betty Woods, and Marcella Wood We lost Leonard Chase, Chester Harpham, Jeannie Johnson, Barbara Ruff, Kenny Waide, and Bill Thoday With Mr Morin as our adviser, we ended another glorious year as upperclassmen We also lost Marcia Magnuson During our senior year, Verna Arthur was our candidate for carnival princess. We held our Sadie Hawkins Dance on Nov mber Z and the seniors gathered in Patsy Storey's garage to make the cider. CI heard some weird storiesof the cider making party, but I won't commit myself.J The Senior Play, 'Aunt Tillie Goes to Townn was a success. Two weeks later, December 14, was our very appropriate Senior Ball, nMoments to Remember.W Our class colors were fuchsia and white and our motto was nSuccess Awaits at Labor's Gates.' In our senior year, we gained: Larry Lockhart, Darlene Roberts. We lost June Onthank. Those who haveattended Kamiah School for all 12 years are: Lawrence Roby, Larry Adams, Verna Arthur Johnnie Walker, Jimmie Maynard, Elton Johnson, Bud Dove, Betty George, and Yvonne Paul. We had a great deal of responsibility, so we chose two advisers. Mrs. Dagley and Mr. Buising gave us a lot of help in every thing we did. We have accomplished a reasonable amount of education and have had a lot of fun in all our four years at Kamiah High School.
