Even the Seniors knew we had a lot of spirit. lt was the best feeling knowing we had beaten them at something! l can remember Napp, Alapaki, Kunane, Joey. David, and Keoni doing their awesome cheers at the assemblies and wearing the creative attire of their football jersies and lava- lavas. It takes someone with time, patience, understanding, music ability, and talent. Laura Lehuanani S. Yim is such a person. As Song Contest Leader for the class of l986, Laura has seen us through many phases and has given her heart and soul to making the class sound just right. Though the class has not always agreed with her, Laura always comes through and gets things done. With her gentle gestures, she invites us to sing with feeling. Being Song Contest Leader has brought pain from the hard frustrating work, and joy from all the growing we did despite the pain. I want the class to understand that as leader for these past years, I have not made them . . they have made me. - Laura Yim She gives her heart and soul to make us sound just right
