6 are all her children It's always the same around Founder's Day. Students think it a hassle to bring their whites to school. Some grumble about rehearsals. Why do we have to go to practice? We sing the same songs every year. Even teachers get upset about the class time lost to rehearsals. I guess they don't feel it's worth it. But I know it is. Middle: Carol Lewis explains the ceremony to her wide-eyed students as Jade Silva offers the welcoming chant. Right: Franklin Hopkins keeps vigil over Pauahi's portrait at the entrance to Keku. Far right: The Reverend David Ka 'upu, Kahu of the Schools, leads the memorial service under the tent at Mauna 'Ala To his left is Keiki Kahu U'i Kalalau who later offered the devotional He Aloha ia Pauahi. 78
