jazz showcase the kamehameha dance theatre, a new addition to the many activities up on campus, was designed for the purpose of perpetuating jazz dance as an artistic endeavor, auditions were held in february for those students who desired advanced staging and choreography, these 28 students were specially selected for their superior dancing skills, this group was choreographed by pam san- dridge and assisted by Judy rasmussen. the theatre performed on campus, as well as throughout the hawaiian islands. racquetball club the kamehameha racquetball club ' s aim was to get stu- dents involved and help them to become better players in one of the fastest growing sports in america. the club meet- ings were held either at kekuhaupi ' o gym or at the midkiff learning center, where plans for their first annual tourna- ment, exhibitions, and other activities were made, the club truly has enjoyed a year of success! pep rallies and assemblies the 1980-81 school year opened with a welcome back assembly in which different class officers en- tertained the student body with skits, other assemblies included the dancers of rarotonga, and the fabu- lous krush. cheerleaders lent their undying spirit to pep rallies by per- forming funky boogies and spirited cheers. right: kitty knight and jean turn hoy show their class spirit, middle right: the sopho- more class officers ham it up. below right: the rarotongan dancers express their aloha, helo w: mackey galbiso of the fabulous krush entertains the student body at the a.s.k.s.
