the spirit of christmas was brought to everyone through the kamehameha schools christmas concert, the evenings of decemher 5 and 6 portrayed the musical tal- ents of the combined glee clubs, the symphony hand, and the orchestra, some unique features of this years ' christmas concert included fourth grade soloist hymie huckso, hawai- ian dancers, hell chimers and a por- trayal of the nativity scene by thespian club members, with the coming together of so much talent, one could not but feel the joy and excitement of the holiday season. clockwise from lop left: 1) randall borges, david dougan, and gary kukaua eat their dinner between performances. 2) dale noble leads the combined glees in song. 3) mi- chelle baptist, mindy chung, and kirstie kane perform during intermission. 4) me- lanie nahoopii sings out in nani keli ' iki ' e- ki ' e. 5) band members concentrate on their music while playing white christmas. 6) christmas concert dancers perfo. christmas in the islands. 7) concert glee sopranos sing hanau ' ia ka mesia. 1 he Kamrhdm JUBILANT CHRISTMAS

concert glee under the direction of dale noble, the year 1980-81 proved to be a very memorable year for the 61 energetic and dynamic voices of concert glee, a tour of the united states and mexico was the goal in sight for that summer, preparations started before the school year began, a week long camp was held on august 17-23 at kamehameha. this was a time for the members to learn songs that was used throughout the year, both kahiko and auwana dances were also taught during camp, with the help of darrell lupenui and dance instructor holoua stender. along with learning songs and dances, the group learned the impor- tant skill of working together and being one. this would be a vital part in their success during their summer tour, fund raisers played an important role in making this dream a reality, the annual christmas tree sale held on december 12-13 was a smashing success, this along with performances for parties and conventions, brought the year to a close with a flare, during the summer the group will be touring such great cities as new york, boston, atlanta and phoenix, the climax of the tour will be in orlando, florida. there the group will be participating in the hawaiian week festivities. -
