ij! ' 4 Major Caleb Cole To the Class of 1956 May I add the congratulations of the ROTC De- |)artment to those of the many other faculty mem- bers and friends of the Class of ' 56 for a job well done. You, as a class, have had more changes in your military life here at Kamehameha thrust upon you than any other recent class. For no two consecu- tive years have you been able to follow a pattern set in previous years. Your ability to adjust quickly and successfully has been well demon- strated by the manner in which you have so ably directed and guided the cadet battalion through this year ' s expanded and difficult program. I hope sincerely that we in the ROTC Department have been instrumental in some small degree in molding you into better citizens and leaders of your Terri- tory and your proud race. It is with deep regret that I personally say fare- well to you and Kamehameha. My three years here with you will always remain in my memory as one of the most interesting and pleasant tours of my Army career. May I, in turn, have repaid you and Kamehameha in some small way for your truly fine spirit of aloha. Caleb A. Cole Major, Infantry PMS T Captain Arthur Jackson M Sgt. Horace Smith M Sgt. Connie Adams M Sgt. Ernest Lock M Sgt. William Sawyer

Kamehaineha completed its sixty-ninth year of niilitary training and its tliird year as a Military Institute this year. iJuring this time, the West Point of the Pa- cific has become known all over the world for its military bearing and proficiency. Upon the s houlders of Major Caleb A. Cole, P.M.S. T., Captain Arthur Jackson and their staff of four sergeants, fell the task of maintaining a high level of discipline, morale, and esjjrit de corps within the cadet battalion. Marching in parades and functioning at assem- blies and special events, the cadets have shown a high degree of military snap and precision. Kamehameha can say with pride that every cadet leaving Kamehameha can go out into the community knowing that he has been trained and that he can meet his responsibilities as a good citizen.
