An ivory beam creeps silently O'er my window sill, Brighter than the faint light From the lighthouse-hill. Borne across the ocean On whispering 'twilight breeze, Filtering through the shivering Shadowed tamarack trees. I wonder what the moon sees, As she glides o'er distant lands Dense Jungles, icy wastes And burning desert sands.
