The Parent-Teacher-Student Organization, with better communication as its primary goal again this year, issued mechanical pen- cils to the teachers first day of school, conducted a successful Open House with subsequent Parent Infonnation Evenings scheduled. We issued three newsletters to date, commanded the attendance office with a volunteer parent each day, helped with the school rules committee and the Critical Thinking Project. We also solicited support for campus beautification. Immediate goals are to sponsor the Close-Up Program again this year, form an Alumni Association, conduct a fundraiser for com- puters in the administration C which will directly affet attentancej, help implement the Leaming Center, and continre efforts at campus beautification. Legislative lobbying for a psychologist in particular, and for inprovements generally, is planned. We succeeded in gaining students on the Board for PTSO this year, and strove to interest teachers in our concems. We feel school spirit, a vital issue has been improved, as has general overall attitude in the school. Our goal, outlined in the Accreditation Report, 5 while being partially met, are still before us to make Kalani, a good school, even better.
