But now as graduates with diploma in hand the years spent at Kaimuki seemed to have gone in a flash. The 511 Seniors who returned to the campus in September were the largest graduating class in Kaimuki's history. They lived up to their motto, Ever Forward with Confidence, as they plunged into the many senior activities planned for the 1958-1959 school year. An Orientation assembly in October started off the year with Class President Louise Field introducing Senior oflicers, Adviser Mrs. Lorraine Chang and Senior Record Room teachers. Class Picnic day on Dec. 12 turned out to be a lovely, sunny day despite weather predictions. Dressed for a carefree day, the Seniors jammed 10 buses and arrived at Kailua Beach Park for a day of fun and play and eating, of course. On Class Day, March 19, the class colors turquoise and white sparkled the campus. An assembly and a special edition of The Bulldog commemorated the day for the Seniors. The Senior Prom on May 8 at the Hawaiian Village Longhouse was the climax of their year's social activities. It was truly a Night to Remember with the girls in their lovely gowns and the boys looking handsome in their dinner jackets. The long awaited Commencement Day on June 7 came at long last. In caps and gowns, the seniors walked up to receive their diplomas, while proud parents and relatives watched with quiet happiness. With poise and confidence, the 1959 graduates take a step forward into the life beyond the campus. EXECUTIVE COUNCIL-Senior class officers discuss plans for next meeting of Senior Council, Seated: Sec, Marjorie Yoshida, Pres. Louise Field, and Sgt. at Arms Arlene Kaneshiro, Standing: Vice-Pres, Rich- ard Ching, and Treas. Edgar Mito. X X
