STUDENT LIFE Campus life at Kaimuki is truly a showcase for American democracy. Here students of every racial extraction and from varied occupational groups meet and work harmoniously to round out a successful school year. . The school government, organized and operated by students, steered its 1,947 citizens through a gratifying year.

ZLEAN-UP SQUAD-Mr. Silven Texiera, head ustodian, custodial staff members Manuel Miran- la, and Mary Lopes on a cleaning job. Who kept the four lunch lines in our cafeteria moving? Some of us thought we would never get at the food at lunch but we always knew we'd never be turned away for lack of food. Mrs. Fumiyo Roach had to put out an average of 1250 hot lunches per day. With special lunches, the count went up to 1400. Mrs. Dela Cruz' pies were sell-outs every day and other items on the menu put out by the cafeteria staff kept us healthy and well-fed. Mr. Silven Texeira and his custodial staff kept our buildings and grounds looking neat and trim. Mr. Vidinha was a one-man lost and found bureau. He displayed all items he found while working around the campus by pinning them on to his shirt.
